Overview

The Clinical negligence group at Penningtons Manches Cooper is regarded as one of the leading specialist clinical negligence teams in the country.  They provide advice in relation to injury or loss suffered as a result of any type of treatment by doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals and operate as specialist advisers especially for serious injury claims involving birth injuries.

 

We are looking to recruit an associate newly qualified to 2 years PQE to join our highly regarded Basingstoke team.

Responsibilities

The role will be a combination of running a small caseload with supervision and assisting a partner in the team in relation to maximum severity cases including birth injury claims, alongside an experienced paralegal. Some experience of and enthusiasm for business development activities relevant to this field of work would be useful.  The candidate must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the need for and ability to work efficiently and of the commercial factors affecting this area of work.

Essential & Desirable Criteria

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for learning and have an efficient, proactive approach to work with a results driven attitude. They may well have trained and/or worked in a recognised leading Clinical Negligence team and have the ability to manage a busy workload with competing demands. They will be keen to build on their experience and expertise and have excellent communication and client care skills.
