Overview

Role

To be part of Finance team responsible for book keeping and financial reporting activities of the Firm covering accounting, reporting and tax compliances for four international offices based in France, Spain, Greece and Singapore. Working closely with members of the central Finance team and local contacts, providing an excellent service to clients, contacts and staff. Take ownership of the month end close and reporting processes of the Firm to ensure all deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of accurate and timely monthly Management Accounts for international offices including all balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss schedules and monthly KPI reporting.
  • Review, reconciliation and maintenance of complex intercompany arrangements, transactions and balances, including processing of intercompany recharges and transfer pricing.
  • Working closely with 3rd party Accountants to ensure local reporting is submitted prior to deadlines and is consistent with entries in the central finance system. Monthly reconciliation of central records to local reporting.       
  • Continuous management of Accruals, Prepayments, Bank and Fixed Assets for international offices.
  • Completion of year end audit files and year end liaison with external auditors.
  • Ensuring that all local statutory, tax and reporting compliances are met, working with central (internal) and local tax (external) teams
  • Working with the Head of Tax and Compliance to ensure timely and accurate filing of local VAT returns and other locally required filings
  • To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall having a responsibility towards self-development
  • Assisting within the department or any other duties and ad hoc project work, as reasonably required              
  • Day to day management of an accounts assistant who predominantly works as an assistant to this role.

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Required qualifications, skills and experience

    • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified
    • Accurate, highly organised, hands on individual who is able to work with limited supervision
    • Experience in working with multinational/multicurrency systems
    • Experience in complex reconciliations
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
    • Good Team player who is able to communicate at all levels
    • Proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in working for a legal firm is beneficial, as is experience of new system implementation
